ABOUT RANDY UMBERGER

Randy was born in Jacksonville, Florida and raised in Charleston, South Carolina. He
came to know Christ at a young age and began his work in the ministry at the age of 16.
He has pastored churches in North Carolina, Georgia, and Florida.
Most recently, he and his family served as missionaries in the Central American country
of Honduras for three years. They trained national Pastors, managed feeding programs,
as well as provided medical and other physical needs among the people in hard to reach
places. They worked in the jungles of La Mosquitia, and he served as Vice President to
a second division professional soccer team.
Randy has a B.A. from Luther Rice Seminary, a M.A. from North American School of Theology,
and an honorary D.D. from Emmanuel Seminary in Kota, Rajasthan, North India.
He has been married to his lovely wife Denise for nearly 26 years and they have three
beautiful daughters; Anna, Rebekah, and Rachel, one son-in-law Henry, and three dogs;
Dakota, Millie, and Max.
Randy says:
"We are excited about being able serve Jesus here at Mount Pisgah. Our desire is to be
a part of a missional church: a community that understands that they are primarily being
trained and equipped to live in this world as missionaries.
The incarnation of Jesus Christ is the supreme example of missional living. He walked
among the poor, the hurting, and the lost. He was known as a friend of sinners.
I believe it is more important to BE the church than to just GO to church. Our message
is the good news of the Kingdom of God. That message is the treasure of the Christian
Gospel--not the tired story of church attendance and good manners, but rather the love
story of all ages, set in the midst of fierce battle. As Jesus said, "The thief comes
only to steal, and kill, and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it
to the full." (John 10:10). After all, it is life we are after, each one of us. And it
is life God offers.
But this message has been lost and shrouded by religion. I am committed to helping others
rediscover its beauty and power. For this message is able to set men and women free to
live from the heart as God's intimate allies. As St. Irenaeus said, "The glory of God is
man fully alive." That's what I am devoted to--seeing men and women come fully alive as
the image-bearers of a breathtaking God. I am committed through teaching, sharing, relating,
and living out this “life”, this “good news”, to seeing God bring about intimacy with Him and
irreversible change in the lives of others."

Felicia Cox - Music Director -

ABOUT FELICIA COX

Felicia was born in Ft. Worth, Texas, but spent her childhood growing up in the Ozark mountains of
southwest Missouri. After graduating high school in 1984, she attended Harding University, a church
of Christ sponsored school, where she was baptized in in 1985. She received her Bachelor of Music
Education degree in 1989. Felicia then went on to graduate school at Sam Houston State University
in Huntsville, Texas. She graduated in 1991 with a Master of Music degree with an emphasis in Conducting.

Felicia has taught in both public and private schools, and in private studios on and off for the past 17 years while raising her family. She has 5 children ranging from 15 down to 7.

Felicia is a multi- talented musician playing instruments such as piano, trumpet, French horn, hammered dulcimer, mountain dulcimer, autoharp, various recorders and other interesting instruments. She is currently learning the steel drums. If given the opportunity, she will annoy her friends with her bagpipe chanter.

In her spare time, Felicia enjoys spending time with her children, reading, learning more instruments, remodeling, and she is currently training for her second marathon! She is also the Music Director for the Holly Springs Community Band, a group of adults who are getting their band instruments dusted off and getting together on Thursday evenings to practice. They give several concerts a year.

Felicia's musical goals for Mt. Pisgah are to strengthen and grow the choral program, and to implement other ensembles in the future. Her spiritual goals for Mt. Pisgah are to glorify God through the medium of music, and provide an avenue for others to come to know Christ through the Music ministry.
