We hold as core beliefs that...
- The God of the Bible is the only true God and He has revealed Himself as One Being in three persons, Father, Son (Jesus Christ), and Holy Spirit.
- Humanity is separated from God by sin (i.e. the desire to live for self and the actions that accompany such a desire) and is in desperate need of a renewed relationship with Him.
- Jesus Christ is the only means by which people can have a relationship with God.
- A relationship with God can never be established through religious ritual or affiliation, works of compassion, morality, or any other attempt to merit divine favor by human means.
- A relationship with God can be established only by His sovereign grace, as the person trusts him or herself fully to Jesus Christ.
- Trust in Christ (i.e. salvation) occurs when the person believes that...
- They are separated from God by their sin and deserving of eternal punishment
- Jesus Christ loves them and died to bear the penalty of their sin
- Jesus Christ rose from the dead to create the way of eternal life with God
...and makes the decision to...
- Willfully surrender control of their life to Jesus Christ
- Commit their life to serve Jesus Christ
Following an informed and personal decision to trust Jesus Christ, the believer then identifies with Him publicly through Baptism by immersion.
Membership in the local church is limited to those who have made a personal decision to trust Christ, publicly confessed Him through the act of Baptism, and exhibit a lifestyle of faith that is consistent with the teachings of the Bible.
Those who have trusted Christ, and been Baptized, remember His sacrificial death by observing a shared meal of bread (symbolizing His Body broken for our sin) and drink (symbolizing His blood shed for our forgiveness).
Those who die having trusted Jesus Christ spend eternity in intimate relationship with God in Heaven. Those who die without trusting Jesus Christ spend eternity in punishment and separation from God in Hell.
The Church exists to bring glory to God by being obedient to the Great Commission in sharing the Gospel both at home and around the world. The Church is a place where worship and training occur in an atmosphere of Christ-centered fellowship to challenge the members to become more like Jesus and equip them to be more effective witnesses for Him.
The Bible is the Word of God, inspired by the Holy Spirit, absolutely without error and the final authority in all matters of faith and practice for the church.
